Social media was alive with chatter as Nigerians responded to South Africans who sparked the Bolt Wars during the Chidimma Adetshina situation.

Remember, Chidimma Adetshina, a Nigerian woman, had to step back from the Miss SA 2024 pageant after facing backlash from many South Africans online.

Chidimma accepted an invitation to join the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant. This made some petty South Africans take action, like ordering fake Bolt rides in Nigeria and canceling them to waste drivers’ time.

After Nigerians became aware of the issue, they took action by requesting multiple cab rides in South Africa. This caused traffic jams, wasted drivers’ time, and interrupted various activities. Some Nigerians also reported ordering items to be sent to random addresses in South Africa with the pay-on-delivery choice.

Many Nigerians joined the Bolt Wars trend by ordering fake rides and items in South Africa. Some of them reportedly apologized on social media.

A user on X named @Itz__Rito, who says they are South African, expressed frustration about receiving deliveries for things they didn’t order.

A user named Tumelo said they had to walk to work because they couldn’t get a ride.

After some South Africans apologized to Nigerians online, many people shared their opinions.
