Clothing Company, GUCCI, Tenders Apology after Releasing Seemingly Racist Sweater
Gucci have issued an apology after releasing a knit sweater costing $890 which resembles someone wearing blackface. The sweater has a neck part that can be pulled up to cover the mouth and nose.
Gucci however gotten a huge backlash for the product which many say is racist because it reminds them of blackface from the past.
The clothing company have now tendered an apology.
They wrote:
“Gucci deeply apologizes for the offense caused by the wool balaclava jumper. We can confirm that the item has been immediately removed from our online store and all physical stores.”
