Countries around the world are stepping up efforts to tackle a new coronavirus that originated in China’s Wuhan city.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared a global health emergency over a new coronavirus that has killed at least 811 people following an outbreak in the central Chinese city of Wuhan.
Almost 37,500 cases have been reported worldwide, most of them in China’s Hubei province. A US citizen died in Wuhan on February 6, while the Japanese Foreign Ministry reported that a Japanese man “suspected of being infected” with the virus has also died in Wuhan on February 8.
