The management of Access Bank has released a statement on a customer who visited their branch on Ligali Ayorinde, Lagos and later tested positive for Coronavirus.
According to the bank, the customer was symptom free on the said date, March 16th, 2020 but later test for the disease.
A Twitter user who shared the statement wrote:
If you visited @myaccessbank Ligali Ayorinde branch last week, you should self-quarantine for a period of 14 days starting immediately. Because an individual who visited the branch on Monday 16th March
Below is the content of the internal memo the bank reportedly sent to staff at the bank:
Dear Colleagues,
On Monday March 16, 2020, our Ligali Ayorinde Branch was visited by an individual who on Friday March 20, 2020 tested positive for the coronavirus and is currently under quarantine at Yaba Isolation Center.
In light of this, the Ligali Ayorinde Branch is temporarily closed, and all affected staff have been mandated to self-isolate at home. We are working with the Ministry of Health to efficiently manage the situation.
Be assured that we are taking the necessary steps to ensure the safety of all employees and are now activating the phase 3 of the Business Continuity plan with immediate effect until further notice.
