Nigeria has recorded the lowest confirmed COVID-19 cases in six months, as the NCDC posted only 58 COVID-19 cases on Sunday 4th October, 2020.
According to the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, only 58 new cases were recorded on Sunday in nine States across the federation.
The figures represent a sharp drop from the 160 cases posted on Saturday.
With the low figures, the nation’s total COVID-19 infection is put at 59,345, with 50,768 survivors discharged and 1,113 deaths recorded.
The new cases were recorded in Plateau, Lagos, Katsina, Ogun, Kaduna, Edo, Ekiti, FCT and Ondo States.

The Director-General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu recently warned that Nigeria may experience an explosion in the number of COVID-19.
Speaking in a TV interview in Abuja, Ihekweazu said a second wave of the virus is inevitable in Nigeria. He urged all states in Nigeria to increase the number of testing as some people might be positive and still asymptomatic.
A few days ago, the NCDC listed nine states that have tested the least number of samples for COVID-19. Among the states are Taraba, Adamawa, Kogi, Nasarawa, Niger, Kebbi, Zamfara, Jigawa and Yobe
