COVID-19: Vaccine against Virus Is 94.5% Effective, Moderna Says
Aljazeera reports reveals that another COVID-19 vaccine being developed has been confirmed to be effective against the global pandemic. The vaccine being developed by Moderna, a US company.
On Monday November 16, the pharmaceutical company, disclosed that its experimental vaccine has shown to be 94.5 % effective from early results.
The manufacturer went on to explain that its first analysis was based on 95 cases of COVID-19 that included 15 adults aged 65 or over, and 20 participants from diverse communities.
It is gathered that early data of the vaccine released from the company showed the effectiveness of the experimental vaccine in a clinical trial with more than 30,000 participants.
Once it has more safety data, Moderna is expected to seek emergency use authorisation from the US Food and Drug Administration.
This news has been received with great joy and the daughter of President Donald Trump of the United States, Ivanka Trump, tweeted about it. According to her, her father partnered with Moderna to create it sometime in January.
Others have also commended Morderna for the achievement while others criticized Trump.
