Crossdresser Bobrisky convicted by court after pleading guilty

• Bobrisky claimed to have been unaware of the legislation regarding Naira abuse before his conviction.

Bobrisky, a crossdresser, was convicted of naira abuse after pleading guilty before Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Ikeja.

Before his conviction, Bobrisky claimed with the court that he was unaware of the legislation governing Naira abuse.

The judge then told him that ignorance of the law was not an excuse, to which Bobrisky replied, “I know, my Lord.”

According to sources, Bobrisky also told the judge, “My Lord, I wish you you can give me a second chance to use my platform to inform and educate my followers about spraying money.”

After the charges were read, Bobrisky pleaded guilty to the first four counts of Naira abuse.

Before the indictment was read, the EFCC’s counsel, Suleiman Suleiman, requested that charges five and six, alleging money laundering, be dropped.

Justice Abimbola Awogboro then declared that counts five and six were invalid. This paved the way for Bobrisky’s arraignment on only counts one through four, which were related to naira abuse.

When the counts were read, Bobrisky was asked if he understood the charge, to which he said, “Yes, I am guilty”.
