Cynthia Morgan, currently recognized as Madrina, has expressed her views on the dynamics within the industry in light of the recent public dispute between nightlife promoter Cubana Chief Priest and Afrobeat artist Burna Boy.
In a post on social media, Madrina recounted a personal incident from 2018, during which she received ₦1 million for a performance, only to later encounter unfounded accusations.
The singer noted that allegations surfaced claiming she had made inappropriate advances towards the event organizers and was engaging in stalking behavior.
Reflecting on her experience, Madrina called upon her fellow musicians to cease undervaluing their artistry and to reject meager compensation for their performances.
“Make artiste no dey collect beggy beggy show again. Na so Maleke beg me to pay me ₦1 million for show for 2018. They later say na I toast them, say I even dey stalk them. Crãzy world,” she wrote.
