A video of extravagant cyber criminal Hushpuppi celebrating Tunde Ednut’s birthday from behind bars went viral, and Twitter star Daniel Regha has spoken out strongly against the video.
Ramon Olorunwa Abbas, also known as Hushpuppi, is an American citizen presently serving an eleven-year term for money laundering.
Hushpuppi celebrated Tunde Ednut’s 38th birthday in style while incarcerated, which made Daniel Regha angry since he felt the celebration of a criminal was glorified.
Daniel Regha emphasized that Hushpuppi should be handled as a criminal since he is in prison and encouraged Nigerians not to portray him as a hero or a role model.
One of the country’s major problems, according to Daniel Regha, is the prevalence of yahoo guys, or internet fraudsters.
He cautioned the public to exercise caution when endorsing influential figures, claiming that Hushpuppi and others like her have normalized cybercrime.
As he put it;
“Hushpuppi is a criminal & should be treated as one since he’s in prison; He often make headlines but Nigerians need to stop acting like he’s an icon or a good role model. One of the biggest problems we are facing today is yahoo boys, which the likes of Hushpuppi encouraged. Let’s be mindful what we encourage in the name of cruise.”
In another post, he added;
“The video of Hushpuppi being served different meals in prison is wr¤ng (if true). He shouldn’t have access to a phone, & needs to be paying for his crimes. Again, Nigerians who catch cruise whenever he makes the headlines are part of the issue; How do y’all criticize politicians but glorify yahoo boys & criminals? That’s pathetic.”
