In a pioneering move, Nigerian music giant David Adeleke, also known as Davido, has formed an exciting relationship with UnitedMasters to launch his new label, Nine+ Records.
Under the terms of this game-changing arrangement, Davido will take over artist development and A&R duties, paving the way for a chosen roster of Nigerian talent primed to reshape the musical landscape.
As a result, his old record label, Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), has been dissolved.
On Saturday, the OBO Crooner announced on his X account that all of his present DMW artistes will be moving to Nine+.
Some of the artists currently signed to DMW include Dremo, Yonda, Peruzzi, Idowest from Lagos Island, DJ Ecool, Danagog, B-Red, Deekay, May D, Deinde, Ayanfe, Liya, Morravey, SayTheyCallMESG and Logos Olori.
David Stout owns UnitedMasters, a new participant in the African music landscape that focuses on artist development, A&R, artist signing, and behind-the-scenes operations.
At the launch, Steve Stoute, founder and CEO of UnitedMasters, stated:
“Over the last 2 years, we’ve proven our commitment to Africa investing in artists, education, and technology. Today, we are doubling down. With this new venture with Davido & the launch of Nine Plus Records, we reinforce our mission in becoming a bridge for artists on the continent. Together we’ll identify & develop new artists while supporting them with brand and synch opportunities.”
Davido added, “I couldn’t be more proud to partner with Steve and the team at United Masters, this announcement represents an exciting new chapter for developing and established artists around the world.”
