Nigerian music artist Omah Lay has conveyed his admiration for Afrobeats icon Davido, referring to him as a “legend.”
In a recent interview with The Baller Alert, Omah Lay disclosed that he and Davido have a forthcoming collaboration, which has generated considerable excitement among their fanbase.
“Actually, we have a song, and it’s coming out soon. I am very excited about the record because it’s something I never imagined would be this great and cool,” Omah Lay shared.
He characterized the collaboration as seamless, highlighting the rapport they established during the creative process.
“The way we got along and made the record is so cool, and Davido is also an amazing person,” he added.
Omah Lay also touched upon the increasing visibility of Afrobeats in the United States, noting that Davido distinguishes himself among numerous Nigerian artists gaining international recognition.
“Davido is a legend. He is big, big,” he asserted, recognizing the pivotal role Davido has played in the global expansion of the genre.
This revelation follows a period in which Omah Lay sparked discussions online by suggesting that he perceived some negativity from Davido towards him.
While he refrained from disclosing the title of the song, Omah Lay indicated that its release is imminent.
The track is anticipated to precede his highly awaited second album, which he mentioned he had to restart after his initial concept was taken by another artist.
