Afrobeats musician David Adeleke, often known as Davido, took center stage during the magnificent funeral service of Chief (Mrs.) Florence Saraki, the late mother of former Senate President Bukola Saraki.

The extravagant event, held on Friday, July 19, at the famed Eko Hotel in Lagos, drew a number of Nigeria’s elite, including governors, top-tier lawmakers, and other notable personalities.

The funeral, a blend of solemnity and high society splendor, came alive as a video showed Davido making his grand entry.

As he made his way through the throng, Davido was surrounded by his entourage and greeted with passionate cheers. The musician did not waste any time in paying his respects to Bukola Saraki, who sat alongside Davido’s billionaire father, Adedeji Adeleke, and Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote.

Another video showed Davido taking the stage in an enthralling moment that had the audience buzzing. As he began to sing his hit song “Feel,” the mood changed from appropriate grieving to boisterous joy.

The infectious rhythm and Davido’s explosive performance had the audience, including many who couldn’t help but join in the youthful dance groove, swaying and moving to the beat.

Notable attendees included Anambra politician Peter Obi and Governor Ademola Adeleke, who were spotted interacting with guests, taking photographs, and enjoying the camaraderie.

Adding to the joyous yet reverent mood, another significant figure, Dino Melaye, was seen thoroughly enjoying himself, socializing and commemorating the matriarch’s life.
