Drake, a popular Canadian rapper, lost a big wager after betting $615,000 on Francis Ngannou, who challenged British-Nigerian boxer Anthony Joshua in a highly anticipated battle.
The fight finished with Anthony Joshua knocking out Ngannou in two rounds, leaving Drake with a significant financial loss.
Days before the highly anticipated bout, Drake moved to Instagram to show off the significant amount of money he had placed on Ngannou, stressing his belief in the “scary man.”
“Betting on a scary man @stake,” Drake captioned the post.
However, fate had other ideas for the rapper, as Anthony Joshua’s strong performance culminated in a quick win against Ngannou.
The knockdown was so devastating that Ngannou required emergency medical treatment, and Drake was forced to face the consequences of his failed wager.
Davido, a prominent Nigerian artist, took advantage of the chance to mock Drake’s financial loss and did not hold back in his Instagram remark.
Davido sneered and laughed as he wrote:
