Davido has expressed his worries about the increasing interest of African Americans in moving to Africa.
In a chat on the Big Homies House podcast, he warned that while Africa is appealing, the current economic situation makes it tough for those thinking about relocating.
He pointed to Nigeria, mentioning its economic difficulties. “Things are not good back home. The economy is really struggling,” he stated.
He pointed out the irony of Nigerians paying high prices for oil made in their own country, highlighting the ongoing issues of living in Africa.
While recognizing Africa’s increasing popularity, especially in entertainment, Davido stressed that this “smokescreen” hides more serious problems. He wanted to give a fair view, urging those thinking of moving to understand the difficulties they might encounter.
“We Nigerians, the exchange rate is messed up, the oil prices is too high. Imagine a country producing oil and we are paying more for oil than countries importing it. We do not have the best leaders, and that is a fact,”
“My aim is to show off the little parts and leave the slums out of the frame,”, he added.
