Residents have been left in shock after the body of a newborn baby was found hanging on the barbed wire fence of an abandoned building in Minna, the Niger State capital. The blood-stained corpse of the child was found by residents of Dutsen Kura, a Hausa community in the state.
Confirming the incident, the District Head of Dutsen Kura Hausa, Ahmad Tukura said only a heartless person could have carried out such an act. He said efforts were being made to apprehend the culprit.
“Why couldn’t the mother just put the baby on the ground? Someone would have picked her and taken care of her or she could have been taken to the orphanage. Killing an innocent child like this is unacceptable” Tukura said
