The Oyo State Police Command has confirmed that overcrowding at a charity event sponsored by former Ooni of Ife’s wife, Olori Naomi Silekunola, led to a tragic stampede that claimed 35 lives and left six others critically injured.
The incident, which occurred during a funfair at Islamic High School, Ibadan, on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, has prompted the arrest of Olori Naomi, the school’s Principal, Fasasi Abdulahi, and six other individuals.
