Fashion designer Deola Sagoe has reacted to the allegations from blogger Hafsah Mohammed. Hafsah claims that Deola made a replica of her custom wedding dress for Tayo, the wife of actor Yhemo Lee.
She revealed that she paid $5,000 in 2022 for her dress, expecting it to be unique.
After noticing Tayo in a similar dress at her wedding on August 31, 2024, Hafsah felt compelled to call out Deola.
The veteran fashion designer issued a statement clarifying that her designs are not owned by any client as intellectual property. She added that they can be changed in colors and styles for others.
Deola highlighted that her company has been offering services for over 35 years, grounded in truth, love, and integrity.
Hafsah Mohammed read Deola’s response and accused her of bullying and insults. She took to her Instagram stories to say that having proper documentation is essential when working with Nigerian designers.
