Award-winning actor and lawmaker, Desmond Elliot has condemned the attack on his colleague/opponent, Olumide Oworu.
The Labour Party candidate for Surulere LGA 1, claimed that he and his team members were attacked on Tuesday, March 14.
Olumide Oworu made this known on his Twitter page on Thursday. According to him, their campaign in Iponri, was disrupted by the thugs, which left one person reportedly injured.
“My team and I were attacked on Tuesday as we attempted to campaign at Iponri, Surulere. A member of my team was injured, but we are thankful the incident didn’t escalate past the level it was. The case has been reported at the Iponri police station,” the tweet reads.
Following the attack, Desmond Elliot has broken his silence as he condemned the act.
He noted how he has reiterated at several fora that he would never be a party to any move that seeks to undermine the peaceful coexistence in Lagos.
Desmond stated that he strongly condemns the act of violence in whatever guide, and as a law abiding citizen, he has called for emotions to be kept under control.
