Destiny Etiko Reacts as Verydarkman Shades Her Over New Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon

Popular Nollywood actress and filmmaker Destiny Etiko has responded after controversial online activist Verydarkman (VDM) threw shade at her newly acquired Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon.

On Valentine’s Day, Destiny made headlines when she unveiled her luxury Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG, celebrating the purchase in a viral video despite using crutches. The excitement around her new ride intensified after celebrity blogger Tunde Ednut estimated the car’s price at a staggering ₦350 million.

However, VDM wasn’t convinced. He accused Nollywood stars, including Destiny, of exaggerating their car purchases to create unrealistic social media pressure. According to him, celebrities should be transparent about the actual manufacturing year of their cars instead of misleading fans with an exaggerated narrative.

Stanley Ontop Defends Destiny Etiko

Reacting to VDM’s remarks, Stanley Ontop, a close colleague of Destiny, clapped back, slamming the online critic for questioning her ability to afford such a luxury car. He pointed out that Destiny makes substantial income from YouTube, Facebook, and TikTok, which justifies her expensive purchase.

Stanley wrote:

“So VDM Dey drag my own Destiny Etiko? This guy wan make men enter am, you Dey m@d? Do you know how much Destiny makes from YouTube, Facebook, and TikTok?

Nwa Bingo, Dimkpa Benin, Ezi Okpoko, Nkita ara! Waten be 350m wey Destiny no fit chest? This VDM na Atulu!

I Dey come make I set my ring light, Ogun go first k!ll u. Mugu, I will be right back.”

Rather than engage in a lengthy response, Destiny Etiko took a subtle but powerful approach—she simply dropped a laughing emoji under Stanley’s post, a silent yet effective clapback.

The exchange has since sparked widespread reactions, with fans divided between supporting Destiny and agreeing with VDM’s take on social media flex culture.
