The specifics of the meeting between the acting Nigerian Customs Service Comptroller General, Adewale Adeniyi, and the acting Inspector General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, have come to light.
The two leaders met at the Louis Edet House, Force Headquarters, Abuja, according to a statement released on Thursday by the Force’s spokesman, Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
According to Adejobi, the meeting provided a forum for the two organizations to discuss ways to improve their mutual cooperation in all facets of their respective activities, particularly border control.
He stated that the conversation centered on topics including collaborative training programs, enhanced investigative methods, and the development of a collaborative relationship for the improvement of the country’s internal security.
Adejobi claimed that Egbetokun also paid Solomon Arase a visit at the Police Service Commission’s Corporate Headquarters in Jabi, Abuja. This is a related development.
He claimed that the meeting’s main objectives were to improve the partnership between the Police Force and the commission.
The two leaders had fruitful discussions about how to improve the nation’s administration and policing during the meeting, according to Adejobi. In order to maintain the efficient provision of law enforcement services and uphold the ideals of justice and safety for all citizens, the IG and the PSC Chairman emphasized the necessity of cooperation and coordination.
The IG pledged to collaborate closely with the Nigerian Customs Service and the Police Service Commission to ensure that the two organizations’ operations run smoothly.
“It is anticipated that this cooperative strategy will improve overall security architecture, advance effective curbing of crime, and guarantee the safety and welfare of all citizens.”
