Diddy’s lawyers are contesting claims about a second victim in the musician’s alleged sex trafficking case.
The 55-year-old artist was arrested on September 16 in New York City for sex trafficking and racketeering and is currently held at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center.
Diddy has been denied bail three times but has recently asked for bail again, proposing a $50 million package.
In court papers submitted on Friday and acquired by TMZ, his attorneys disputed the government’s assertion of a second victim.
The first indictment included an unnamed victim believed to be Cassie, Diddy’s ex-girlfriend from 2007 to 2018.
Cassie had previously accused Diddy of rape and abuse, and they reached a private settlement the day after her lawsuit was filed last November.
Diddy’s legal team contends that the alleged second victim is “not a victim at all” and that she has not been interviewed by prosecutors or involved in Diddy’s alleged misconduct.
They also claim that Diddy did not attempt to contact her, which they assert prosecutors are aware of.
The legal team argues that the government intentionally deceived the court and did not share important information during Diddy’s first bail hearing.
In the documents, Cassie is called “Victim 1,” and the attorneys state that her accusations only appeared in November 2023, after she had been in a relationship with Diddy for 11 years.
