Senator Dino Melaye has taken to social media to over the rejection of Lauretta Onochie as a national commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Chairman of the Senate Committee on INEC Kabiru Gaya had stated in his report that Mrs Lauretta Onochie did not meet the requirements of the federal character principles as they already have a serving national electoral commissioner from Delta State Mary Agbamuche-Mbu who was screened and confirmed by the eighth Senate.
Taking to his Instagram page, Dino Melaye shared a video of the announcement of her rejection by the Senate at the committee.
He captioned his post as: “Lauretta Onochie is out. Character is everything.”
