Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law has been taken to hospital after opening a letter containing a white powder. The letter had been addressed to Vanessa Trump’s husband Donald Jr – the president’s eldest child with ex-wife Ivana.

The letter had been addressed to Vanessa Trump’s husband Donald Jr – the president’s eldest child with ex-wife Ivana.

The 40-year-old was taken to hospital as a precaution at around 10am when she opened the envelope at her apartment in New York.

It is unclear what the suspicious powder was but Vanessa’s mum was also taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center as she was in the house at the the time along with a third person.

The NYPD and officials from the departments of Health and Environmental Protection were scrambled, along with the Office of Emergency Management.

Law enforcement sources told New York Post the powder turned to be cornstarch.

The NYPD’s intelligence division and the Secret Service are investigating the incident.
