Two lawyers engaged in a physical conflict, battling each other with chairs, at a Customary Court in Obukpa, Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State.
During the altercation, litigants were seen pulling up chairs and shouting at the top of their lungs, as captured in a video that circulated on social media sites.
The video footage showed a scene of complete chaos as the two lawyers, whose identities were not revealed, engaged in physical conflict within the courtroom.
The uproar perplexed fellow lawyers and court personnel, forcing immediate intervention to prevent the situation from deteriorating further.
In the video, one of the lawyers could be heard taunting the other, saying, “He is a very small boy… He is a mad man,” to which the second lawyer responded, “Touch me again…”
The exchange continued with retorts such as, “Who touched you? Look at this mad man,” from the first lawyer, who eventually began walking out of the courtroom.
The second lawyer, unable to resist a parting shot, added;
“Look at you. You have bleached yourself like a fool. You have bleached yourself like a woman.”
The precise cause of the altercation remains unclear at this time, but it has sparked a wave of reactions and condemnation.
