Dubai princess Sheikha Mahra divorces her husband on Instagram, just 1 year after their wedding

A Dubai princess has ”divorced” her hubby on Instagram.

On Wednesday, July 17, Sheikha Mahra bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the daughter of the current ruler of Dubai, shared a post on her verified Instagram account that read: “Dear Husband, As you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce.”

The post comes just one year after she supposedly married her partner, Sheikh Mana bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum.

“I divorce you, I divorce you, and I divorce you,” Sheikha Mahra, 30, added, seemingly referencing the Islamic practice known as triple talaq, which allows husbands to divorce their wives by saying “I divorce you” three times.

“Take care. Your ex-wife,” Sheikha Mahra finished her post.

Sheikha Mahra is the daughter of Dubai’s ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, 75, who also serves as the UAE’s vice president and prime minister.

Her tweet comes just two months after giving birth to her and Sheikh Mana’s daughter.

On May 9, Sheikha Mahra posted a photo of the newborn’s tiny hands on Instagram.

On June 4, she also posted a photo of herself cuddling her infant daughter. The princess appears to have erased all of her husband’s photos from her page, and he appears to have done the same on his Instagram account.

Sheikha Mahra confirmed to Grazia magazine that she got married to  Sheikh Mana in May 2023, after the couple announced their engagement in March. The couple had an extravagant wedding reception in Dubai in June, according to the outlet.

Sheikha Mahra announced the couple were expecting a baby in an Instagram Stories post in Oct. 2023.

She captioned a mammography shot,  “Just the three of us,” adding two white love heart emojis.

In other news, Uzor Arukwe, one of Nollywood’s finest actor, spoke out on a recent episode of media personality Chude Jidenwo’s show, WithChude.

During the interview, the movie actor revealed numerous details about his life before and after joining the film industry.

The movie actor revealed that leaving his corporate career in 2012, before entering Nollywood, was one of the lowest points in his life.

Uzor Arukwe mentioned that he was unemployed from November 2012 to December 2013, but he kept this from his mother and older brother for several years.

During the conversation, the Sugar Rush star said that he is married with children and has found a way to separate his personal life from his work. He stated that his motivation for doing so is to stay sane and protect his family from the prying eyes of the public, as many veteran performers he admires do.

Uzor Arukwe also talked about his early career in Nollywood. The actor described how he entered and left Nollywood several times. He said that his first gigs paid him N1,000, N2,000, and N10,000, respectively. He also admitted that he received “thank you for coming” as money for his film role.

One of Uzor Arukwe’s most well-known performances was in Funke Akindele’s record-breaking film A Tribe Called Judah.
