Social media users are sharing a video of well-known Nigerian singer Burna Boy’s response after losing four Grammy nominations in one night.
Remember The 66th Grammy Awards were hosted on Friday, February 4th at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, according to Intel Region.
Burna Boy, as well as fellow Nigerian artists Davido, Tems, Ayra Starr, Asake, and Olamide, who were nominated, did not win a single prize.
Burna Boy gained four nominations for Best Melodic Rap under the category “Sitting On Top of the World.”
“City Boys” (Best African Music Performance), “Alone” (Best Global Music Performance), and “I Told Them” (Best Global Music Album).
Even though Burna Boy is a Grammy Award winner—he took home the trophy for Best Global Music Album at the 2021 Grammy Awards—but he was shocked that none of his four recent nominations resulted in a win, according to a video that went viral.
This indicates that the “Last Last” crooner has only won one Grammy Award out of the twelve nominations he has garnered.
In a recently viral video of the musician, Burna Boy uttered that it looks like a dream to him as he does not seem like a real-life to him anymore even though he performs at the Grammy Awards.
In his words; “E be like dream to me i no know say na real life.”
