Self-proclaimed Prophet Ebuka Obi of the Zion Prayer Movement Outreach has refuted any acquaintance with the woman who recently testified in his church, claiming she purchased a house valued at ₦500 million.
The cleric accused the woman of bearing false witness against God and his ministry. In a video that has gained significant attention on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, the prophet addressed the widely circulated incident.
His remarks follow reports indicating that the woman, who provided the testimony during a church service, allegedly fabricated her account.
During a program led by Prophet Ebuka Obi, the woman claimed that God had blessed her with a house worth ₦500 million. However, subsequent investigations revealed that she is reportedly a local beverage vendor, and her testimony was untrue.
In response to the ensuing controversy, Prophet Obi clarified that he does not have a personal connection with the woman, noting that, like many others, she merely attended the church to share her testimony.
He emphasized that if the woman was indeed dishonest, her deceit was directed at God and the altar, rather than against the church or his ministry.
In his words: “I said it last month that my name would be all over the media. I said the media would be shaking, making it look real, but it’s all fake.”
“I heard from clergymen in the East that bloggers were sponsored. Now, do I know her? Does any member know her? She came to testify, just like hundreds of others who come here daily. If the house she claimed to own is fake, then it is her who lied before God and His altar — not the ministry.”
