Eedris Abdulkareem Steals the Spotlight at AY’s Comedy Show with Surprise Performance

Nigerian entertainers Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, and rapper Eedris Abdulkareem have given fans something to discuss after their lively onstage interaction during a recent comedy show.

While performing, AY made a playful remark about a rapper in the audience, recalling a memorable moment from the 2004 “Star Mega Jams” concert where Eedris Abdulkareem claimed to have confronted American rapper 50 Cent. As AY shared the story, he appeared somewhat intimidated, admitting that he didn’t like the way Eedris was eyeing him from his seat in the audience.

Things quickly took a turn when Eedris stormed the stage, grabbed the microphone from AY, and transformed the moment into a musical performance. The DJ immediately played Eedris’ 2005 hit Nigeria Jaga Jaga, and the rapper took control of the moment, much to the crowd’s excitement.

This encounter came on the heels of Eedris Abdulkareem revealing the backstory of his confrontation with 50 Cent during an appearance on The Honest Bunch Podcast. He explained that the incident took place on the first day of a concert at Lagos’ Tafawa Balewa Square in 2004, during a Nigerian Breweries-hosted event. Abdulkareem recalled how 50 Cent and his bodyguards aggressively evicted several Nigerian artists, including P-Square, from the backstage area.

Standing firm, Eedris refused to be intimidated, and an altercation almost ensued, but a mediator stepped in to calm the situation. Abdulkareem further claimed that the chaotic events of the concert included allegations of women being molested and many people tragically losing their lives in a stampede, all of which he believes were suppressed by Nigerian Breweries.
