EFCC allegedly arrests Ekiti DJ for impersonating hip-hop singer Portable
A disk jockey identified as Famotemi Toluwani Timothy, have been arrested by the Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ( EFCC) for allegedly impersonating controversial hip-hop singer, Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable.
Timothy who is a a native of Igede-Ekiti in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Ekiti State, allegedly opened an Instagram account with the name “Zazu Omolalomi Portable” where he claimed to be the singer.
According to the Head of Media and Publicity of EFCC, Wilson Uwajuaren, the suspect met his victim identified as Adebayo Adedimeji Lukman, running a club in Offa, Kwara State, on social media, and introduced himself as Portable. He bargained to perform at the club for the sum of N1 million naira with eighty percent upfront payment.
The victim reportedly paid the sum of Seven Hundred and Ninety Thousand Naira into a bank account number provided by the suspect.
However, the self-styled Portable did not show up for the event held earlier this year. He went on to block all means of communication with the victim.
