The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has published the photographs of four individuals suspected to be involved in the Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX) scam, which has reportedly caused substantial financial losses to thousands of Nigerians.
In an announcement made on its official X (formerly Twitter) account on Friday, the EFCC identified the suspects as Seyi Oloyede, Emmanuel Uko, Adefowora Oluwanisola, and Adefowora Abiodun Olaonipekun.
The agency stated that the suspects are wanted in connection with a fraudulent online investment scheme known as CBEX, through which investors allegedly lost millions of naira.
“The public is hereby notified that the persons whose photographs appear above are wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for fraud allegedly perpetrated on an online trading platform called Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX),” the EFCC posted.
The commission appealed to the public for any information regarding the whereabouts of the suspects, urging individuals to reach out to EFCC offices in Ibadan, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, or Port Harcourt.
This development comes shortly after the Federal High Court in Abuja granted the EFCC permission to arrest and detain six individuals linked to CBEX over an alleged investment fraud exceeding one billion dollars.
