The Brig. Gen. Olu Adewa, Commander of the Ekiti State Amotekun Corps in light of the group’s ability to guarantee a state free from crime, has warned criminal elements to stay away from the state as they are set to launch aggressive Campaign against them.
Adewa, who just took office, reaffirmed the corps’ readiness to expel criminals from the state using both conventional and technological methods.
Immediately following an exercise called “Show of Force” that the men of the corps undertook in collaboration with the Nigerian Army and other security agencies across the majority of the state’s 16 local government areas, the corps commander spoke in Ado Ekiti on Saturday.
Adewa said, “The exercise is to send a signal to criminals that it will not be business as usual. So, criminally-minded people are hereby warned to stay away from the state. Amotekun corps, under my command, is determined to ensure swift responses to distress calls.”
In order to maintain a community free of crime, the commander urged the people of Ekiti to always provide the corps with accurate information.
In order to protect resident lives and property, he declared that the organization would keep working with other security organizations.
