Empress Njamah celebrates 1-year of surviving ex-lover’s blackmail, leaked video

Actress Empress Njamah has marked a year after escaping the drama that engulfed her and her former boyfriend, George Wade, who was charged with extortion and releasing private footage of the actress.

The pair gained notoriety in December 2022 and early 2023 when Empress charged Wade with attempting to utilize her personal recordings and images that he had in order to extort her.

Wade apparently delivered on his threat by making public the actress’s naked images and videos, claiming to be releasing daily updates featuring her without clothing.

Many of her coworkers, including Emeka Rollas, national president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), who demanded Wade’s arrest, stood by her as things got out of hand.

Empress Njamah celebrated making it through the scandal on Monday by wishing her followers a happy new year on her Instagram account.

She penned:

“HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE. Same time last year the devil touched the wrong person (you know the story) but as a child of GRACE the mighty God came through for me, ever since my TESTIMONIES are endless, who am that God loves me so much? My appreciation goes to God almighty and every soul who stood by me,with a thankful heart I say HAPPY NEW YEAR AND GOD BLESS.”

Following the publication of her personal films and images, Empress clarified that Wade had entered her life during a time of weakness following the loss of her close friend, actress Ada Ameh. He then reportedly used this access to deceive and blackmail her.

Although she acknowledged that Wade had captured a private video of her, she pointed out that, contrary to what he said, he is the one in the video with her.

Wade’s true name is Nicholas Davies, and the Liberian police ultimately took him into custody.

In April 2023, news of his arrest began to circulate as he was spotted being escorted in handcuffs by law enforcement.
