“Encouraging women to get married, is like encouraging them to step one inch closer to our death” – Chidera Eggerue

  • Chidera Eggerue, a British Nigerian writer and fashion blogger, argues that encouraging women to marry is equivalent to encouraging them to their death.
    • Chidera Eggerue posits that men are unreliable and untrustworthy, referring to them as women’s apex predators.
    • Chidera emphasized that men can easily end their wives’ lives, so encouraging marriage is like pushing women closer to death.

Chidera Eggerue, a British Nigerian author and fashion blogger, has expressed the view that promoting marriage for women is akin to urging them towards their demise.

She holds the belief that men are inherently unreliable and untrustworthy, characterizing them as the ultimate threat to women.

Chidera has pointed out that men possess the capacity to endanger the lives of their spouses, stating that “encouraging women to get married, is like encouraging women to step one inch closer to our death”.

The fashion blogger asserts that if a woman is to be encouraged to marry, it should only be with genuine concern for her well-being.

“If i were to get married to a man, I will only be getting married to who’s putting land, properties, and assets in my name,” she said.

In other news, Nollywood actor Timini Egbuson has expressed his belief that musicians do not provide the same level of support to the Nigerian film industry as actors do for the music sector.

In a recent social media post, he articulated his wish for greater collaboration and backing from the music industry towards Nollywood.

“I really wish musicians supported Nollywood the way we support their music but that’s a conversation for another day,” he stated on his X account on Sunday.

The Nigerian film and music industries have historically been intertwined, with many musicians taking roles in Nollywood films and numerous actors pursuing careers in music.

Additionally, several actresses have appeared as video vixens in music videos, further merging the two entertainment realms.

Despite this interconnectedness, Egbuson’s comments underscore a continuing dialogue regarding the extent of mutual support between these two industries.
