Onyeka Onwenu, popularly known as the “Elegant Stallion,” was finally laid to rest in a touching ceremony in Lagos.
Onyeka Onwenu, 72, died on July 30, 2024, from injuries sustained following a fall during an event honoring Emzor Pharmaceuticals’ Managing Director, Dr. Stella Okoli.
The incident took place at Reddington Hospital in Ikeja, where she finally died. Onwenu’s burial ceremony was held at The Fountain of Life Church in Ilupeju, Lagos.
The solemn service was followed by a private burial at a mausoleum in Ikoyi. The event was well-attended, with noteworthy attendees including former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi and Abia State Governor Alex Otti.
Many people are saddened by Onwenu’s passing since she was not just a successful artist, but also a renowned broadcaster, actress, politician, and activist. She is survived by two sons.
Videos of the burial ceremony have circulated online, eliciting a flood of emotions and condolences from fans and lovers around the nation.
