Nollywood actor Etim Effiong has candidly discussed with his wife, Toyosi, the importance of establishing boundaries and managing the numerous female admirers in his life.
During the celebration of their seventh wedding anniversary, the couple revisited a conversation from seven years prior, reflecting on the challenges they have faced in their relationship and their personal development.
Toyosi posed a challenging yet familiar question to her husband: “What measures do you have in place to protect yourself from the chaos and unpredictability?”
Etim responded with careful consideration, explaining how he has evolved in handling such circumstances over the years.
“The simple answer to the question is I have measures in place, and I have always had measures in place. I guess the toolbox is getting better measures as I grow,” he said.
The actor emphasized the significance of boundaries and self-awareness in addressing his “saviour complex.”
He explained, “I’ve learned to have boundaries in place and how to deal with my saviour complex. I cannot be there to save everyone who needs help; I cannot be their emotional support, the love of their lives, and their saviour. As I grow older, I have been able to handle this.”
His wife appeared to revel in the heartfelt sentiments expressed by her husband, who assured her with sincerity.
