Excited Nigerians React As Super Falcons Qualify for 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup Round of 16

Nigerians have reacted to Super Falcons’ qualification to the Round of 16 games, at the ongoing Women’s World Cup in France, following the completion of the group phase on Thursday.

The Super Falcons had to wait until the final Group F fixtures, to see if they would qualify for the Round of 16.

Nigeria has now taken the last slot reserved for the best third-placed countries. The other three are Brazil, China and Cameroon.

Africa will be cheering on Nigeria, who plays Germany on June 22 and Cameroon who will face England.

Some Nigerians took to social media to congratulate the Super Falcons on their qualification.

While some prayed for the team to defeat Germany, others advised and expressed fear that Nigeria will be booted out soon.

Here are some comments gathered by Gistlover.com from Twitter:

@Lagatumuch “Congratulations Nigeria. Congratulations Super Falcons.

@Henihenryjr “Midfield needs to get better Ngozi Okobi, Kwelu please get better put the ball down calm the nerves of the team and play good football.”

@Rolletoso “Congratulations Nigeria.. Congratulations Super Falcons for qualifying into the round of 16 after so much permutations. It’s been a long week, we didn’t qualify, later we qualified.

“I hope the team goes even beyond the round of 16 to eventually win the trophy.
