Family of late music icon, Onyeka Onwenu announces funeral date

• Onyeka Onwenu, the renowned music icon from Nigeria known as the “Elegant Stallion,” will be laid to rest today, Friday, in Lagos, as confirmed by her family.

• The singer passed away on July 30, 2024, at Reddington Hospital in Ikeja. She collapsed during an event celebrating Dr. Stella Okoli, the Managing Director of Emzor Pharmaceuticals.

She was 72 years old.

The family has announced that the funeral service will take place at the Fountain of Life Church in Ilupeju, with a private burial afterward at a vault in Ikoyi, as reported by CKN News.

Also thefuneral flyer indicates that the Service of Songs is set for 10 AM to 12 PM, and the burial will occur from 2 PM to 4 PM.
