Onyeka Onwenu, the renowned music icon from Nigeria known as the “Elegant Stallion,” will be laid to rest today, Friday, in Lagos, as confirmed by her family.

The singer passed away on July 30, 2024, at Reddington Hospital in Ikeja. She collapsed during an event celebrating Dr. Stella Okoli, the Managing Director of Emzor Pharmaceuticals.

She was 72 years old.

The family has announced that the funeral service will take place at the Fountain of Life Church in Ilupeju, with a private burial afterward at a vault in Ikoyi, as reported by CKN News.

Also thefuneral flyer indicates that the Service of Songs is set for 10 AM to 12 PM, and the burial will occur from 2 PM to 4 PM.

In other news, Street-hop artist Portable Omolalomi has generated significant online excitement with the release of a snippet from a song dedicated to Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen has recently been in the spotlight due to ongoing discussions about his potential transfer. Initially, he was rumored to be moving to Chelsea, but Saudi Arabia’s Al Ahli has since entered the fray, offering an impressive deal to the player.
