Wizkid, Burna Boy, and the late Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti were three of the well-known Nigerian musician Rema’s musical influences.
Rema revealed this information in a Hip TV interview. He also disclosed that American rapper Kanye West was one of the international artists who gave him inspiration.
According to Rema, the lifestyles of Burna Boy, Whizkid, and Kanye West inspire him to create music
He said, “I’m inspired by Burna [Boy] because of his story. Fela [Kuti] inspires me. Kanye West [inspires me] because of how far he goes in terms of his creativity, and production I really like Wiz [kid] because of how he carries himself.”
According to him, he plans to stay consistent by being original and unique.
According to multiple sources, famed Nigerian singer Rema’s upcoming gig in Ethiopia has been canceled.
The music superstar was slated to play in Ethiopia on September 9, 2023, at the Sheraton Hotel in Addis Abeba. However, according to rumors, the hotel’s administration postponed the performance owing to religious considerations.
Rema’s recently released necklace, which featured an upside-down image of a church on fire and inverted crosses, resulted in the cancellation of his Ethiopian concert. According to accounts, the musician was accused of demon worship.
Based on reports, Rema’s performance was canceled by the Ethiopian people and the hotel because the image on his necklace offended the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo church.
As a guest on Nigerian media phenomenon Daddy Freeze’s Instagram live program, a woman from Ethiopia recently commented on Rema’s postponed concert in her country.
She believes a press release was produced to that effect because Rema’s jewelry sparked concerns about his alleged demon worship.
Her words are:
“They made a statement, like a press release in Ethiopia about Rema. Yes, you can imagine, it’s a very big deal.
“They’re basically saying he is worshipping the devil because of what he has on his neck. And to be honest, I never thought of it myself. And there’s more to it; to be honest.”
