The Federal Government of Nigeria has released a stern warning to individuals planning to disorganize the 2023 general elections.
Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, the Minister of Police Affairs, stated this in Abuja on Thursday while revealing his office’s achievements and activities.
The Minister said no amount of security threats will deter the security agencies from ensuring the conduct of free, fair, and credible elections in 2023 and anyone caught fomenting trouble will be severely dealt with.
Dingyadi on Police welfare, in July 2022, all officers and men of the Nigerian Police were given an improved and increased salary structure approved by President Buhari.
The minister confessed that though the arrears are yet to be paid, he assured that the federal government will soon sort out all outstanding issues.
Speaking on the insecurity in the North East, Dingyadi said the police and the military have degraded the terrorists’ capability and dislodged them from their hitherto strong hold in the North East.
