In order to conduct repairs, the Federal Government announced on Thursday that the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos would be closed from midnight on Saturday, October 21, to midnight on Sunday, October 22.
The government was prepared to start comprehensive rehabilitation works on the bridge, starting with repairs of the critical portions, according to a statement from Mrs. Olukorede Kesha, the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State.
The Third Mainland Bridge will undergo extensive repairs, and Kesha said that the Federal Government wanted the driving public to know that this was something they were currently planning.

In order to ensure smooth traffic flow, she urged drivers to assist traffic management officials by following all instructions and obeying all diversions.
However, since the Adeniji bound of the bridge will be closed to traffic starting on Saturday, October, drivers are urged to take alternate routes whenever feasible during the palliative works period. 21 through Sunday, 22 at 12:00 a.m.,” she stated.
