“Fight in me died during EndSARS” — Singer Burna Boy ignores pleas to support protests

Burna Boy, a popular afrobeat singer, has cautioned his followers not to involve him in the ongoing nationwide hunger protest.

Gistlover rports that on Thursday, August 1, Nigerian youths began a 10-day nationwide protest against economic hardship.

Following the continuous protests, several of his fans resorted to social media to encourage celebrities to join the protests.

Burna Boy cautioned his fans on his X handle not to lure him into protests, claiming that the first in him died during the EndSARS protest on October 20, 2020.

In a tweet dated October 2020, he stated, “The fight in me died on this day. Ogun go doggy anybody wey call my name this time around. Even Jesus was crucified.”

The post from the 2020 protest recorded the moment demonstrators refused to let his music play during their protest.

According to Gistlover, musician Spyro had previously asked for a nationwide entertainment break and challenged other celebs to use their page to offer their voices.

In other news, Burna Boy, the Afrobeats master, has stirred a frenzy among his followers by handing over his cherished title “African Giant” to fellow singer Falz.

This surprise action follows Burna Boy’s recent social media diatribe, in which he distanced himself from the ongoing national demonstrations. The singer’s decision to distance himself from the demonstrations was motivated by an event that occurred on October 20th, 2020, during the EndSARS rally.

In response to one of Burna Boy’s postings, a social media user, @jr_barryy, chastised him for hiding behind his “African Giant” label and failing to uphold it through active advocacy.

The X user wrote, “Because you wan ghost and you de call yourself African giant.”

Burna Boy quickly replied, declaring that he had handed over the torch to Falz, saying: “I don hand am over to Falz bros.”
