Award-winning Nigerian film producer Bolanle Austen-Peters has conveyed her heartfelt thanks to those who honored her on her 56th birthday yesterday.
The esteemed producer, recognized for her successful films including Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti and House of Ga’a, took to her Instagram account this morning to express her sincere gratitude.
In reflecting on the immense love she received, Austen-Peters noted that while she has always felt cherished, the expressions of affection she experienced yesterday were extraordinary. She expressed her astonishment at the remarkable outpouring of goodwill and contemplated how she might ever reciprocate such generosity.
While she acknowledged the impossibility of responding to each message personally, she underscored that every act of kindness was profoundly valued.
She wrote on Instagram:
“I have always experienced love but Yesterday was another level of loving. My goodness… what did I do to deserve this and how can even I repay the show of love? I had no party, no event, no NOTHING and you guys taught me that you can buy adulation but it is better to be loved. Just keep doing you, those who love you will love you for who you are. You are not unnoticed. From the family and friends to the doorman to Royalty to Stars to Government everyone I cannot individually reach out to (at a point my whatsapp crashed) but please know that you are appreciated.”
