Filmmaker Kunle Afolayan decries rising incompetence among job seekers

  • Nigerian actor, filmmaker, and director Kunle Afolayan has expressed his deep frustration with the alarming level of incompetence in the country.
    • Afolayan criticized the irony of people complaining about unemployment yet failing to deliver efficiently when given job opportunities on his Instagram page.

Prominent Nigerian actor, filmmaker, and director Kunle Afolayan has voiced his significant frustration regarding what he perceives as a troubling level of incompetence within the nation.

In a post on his Instagram account, Afolayan highlighted the contradiction of people lamenting unemployment while simultaneously failing to perform effectively when presented with job opportunities.

“I am so saddened by the high level of incompetence in our beloved country. A lot of people cry about not having a job, but when they get one, how efficient are they at it? I’m so pissed,” he wrote.

Afolayan’s remarks ignited extensive discussion on his platform, with numerous individuals agreeing that workforce inefficiency is a critical concern in Nigeria.

His views resonated with several peers in the entertainment sector, who took to the comments to share their own experiences.

Actress Biola Bayo remarked, “Come ask me o. They’ll apply for jobs, call for an interview and won’t show up. The ones you pick will not resume work, or the one who resumes doesn’t want to work.”

Media personality Stephanie Coker added, “I spent the whole weekend discussing this.”

Comedian and skit creator Kiekie shared similar sentiments, stating, “I am screaming!! This!! It’s alarming!! If you have all the money in this world, you’ll still not get results! The spirit of excellence is zero.”

In other news, Nollywood actor, skit maker, and on-air personality (OAP) Victor Udochukwu Nwaogu, popularly known as Nkubi, has melted hearts on social media with a touching moment featuring his daughter.

Eager for his one-year-old child to take her first steps, Nkubi shared a video capturing the special bonding moment. In the clip, the proud father gently held his little girl’s hands as he guided her through the walking process.

Adding to the charm of the video, Nkubi included a humorous voiceover, playfully narrating his daughter’s reaction to his encouragement.

The comedian, clearly overjoyed, has been sharing adorable photos of himself, his wife, and their baby girl on his social media pages. He also revealed her name, proudly announcing that she would be called Soromtochukwu.

His heartwarming post has since drawn widespread admiration, with fans celebrating the beautiful father-daughter moment.
