Filmmaker Niyi Akinmolayan faults Don Jazzy over his signees’ style of songs

Niyi Akinmolayan, Nigerian filmmaker, director and media consultant, has queried Record producer and CEO of Mavins Records, Michael Collins Ajereh professionally known as Don Jazzy.

The filmmaker questioned why the Mavins boss’ artistes always follow the same pattern of song.

Niyi noticed how his signees are always singing about sex, which makes him feel somehow.

He tweeted,

“This thing where Don Jazzy gets young artists and list of the song is about sex and sex makes me feel somehow sha. I don’t know. It’s all sex sex sex. Sometimes I can tell they don’t even know what they are singing about. But what do I know. The music industry is rich as u say”.

This is coming days after Don Jazzy, had ‘activated’ a new talent simply identified as Bayanni.

The young lad through the music producer’s platform has been launched into the Nigerian music scene.

Taking to his verified Instagram account, Don Jazzy noted that the budding music star passed through the Mavin Academy and he is ready to dazzle the world with his talent.

In a skit which featured award-winning skit makers, Mr Funny aka Sabinus and Brainjotter, the beatmaker welcomed his new artiste to the music industry.

Taking to his caption section, Don Jazzy wrote, “It’s that time again when we bring to you another young talent from the Mavin Academy. Meet BAYANNI. He has gone through a series of defining moments and is ready to be unveiled to the world.”

Recall also that Don Jazzy had sent an important message to upcoming artists.

The talent manager, while sharing how he got to sign Ayra Starr, Boyspyce and Bayanni, gave advice to upcoming talents.

Don Jazzy revealed that he was the one who reached out to the fast-rising singers.

Sharing more, he stated that he saw samples of their musical performances on their Instagram pages.

Don Jazzy was enchanted with their vocals and talents and reached out to them.

The music executive advised artists to show themselves on social media.

“Dear upcoming artists,

From these 3 screenshots you can see that I reached out to Ayra, Boyspyce and Bayanni myself. I won’t have reached out to them if I didn’t see a sample of what they can do on their Instagram pages. For the umpteenth time, showcase yourself on your page. I know it seems uncool to post a lot. But then again you would be an uncool artist if its only your family that gets to hear your beautiful music till you give up”.
