Syrian government-led bombing of last opposition stronghold comes despite Russia-Turkey

A new ceasefire agreement between Russia and Turkey, which support opposing sides in Syria’s nearly nine-year conflict,

went into effect on Sunday but violence has continued, according to rescue workers operating in opposition-held areas.

At least 21 people were killed in Syria’s rebel-held Idlib province as government forces and their Russian allies intensified an air offensive on the country’s northwest.
