Real Madrid captain, Sergio Ramos has received a two match ban from UEFA for intentionally getting booked in the game versus Ajax.
Ramos received a yellow card for a foul on Kasper Dolberg late in the Champions League last-16, first-leg match that ended 2-1.
The booking will see the 32-year-old suspended from next Tuesday’s second leg.
Apparently, the defender intentionally got booked so that he won’t miss a more important game later on in the competition.
In a statement, Ramos stated that he truly committed the foul on purpose but had no intention of getting booked.
This is not the first time the Spanish International would be engaging in such act. In 2010, he did the same thing against Ajax in the UCL.
