Frank Edwards Reveals How His Mum Stopped Him From Securing $320,000 Music Deal

Frank Edwards, celebrated Mother’s Day by expressing gratitude for his mother.
He shared a significant moment in his career where his mother advised him against signing a $320,000 deal.
The deal would have given the group full ownership of his music catalogue.

Renowned gospel singer Frank Edwards joined Nigerians in celebrating Mother’s Day by sharing a heartfelt message of appreciation for his mother.

Edwards recounted a pivotal moment in his career when his mother prevented him from signing a $320,000 (now equivalent to N492 million) deal with a group that sought full ownership of his music catalogue.

The singer revealed that his mother, who initially supported his career by giving him N150,000 to start his studio, went to great lengths to protect his interests. She even confiscated his international passport to prevent him from traveling abroad to finalize the deal behind her back.

“The very first time in my life years ago I was to close $320,000 deal from a group that wanted to almost own my entire catalogue. You said NO ! And I quote you. “ The 150,000 naira I gave you to start that studio is bigger than that money, just give it time . They are not of God”

Infact you took my international passport away from me Just to ensure I don’t travel to close that deal , and I was laughing because I didn’t need to travel to close it but then I listened to you. After u said that I was thinking How is 150,000 Naira bigger than $320,000,” he wrote.

Edwards expressed his gratitude for her preventing him from finalizing the deal, celebrating her on Mother’s Day.

“Now I understand there is so much to say !! But like I said .. this space is not enough!! Happy Mother’s Day mum!!! Thank you for everything this space is not enough to write about you. Thank you for an impenetrable wall of fire! Thank for always telling me the mind of God about the things I’m doing, Non of your words fell to the ground because you truly hear from God,” he added.
