Ex-singer, Chinko Ekun, gives testimony as he narrates how life’s struggle almost made him take his life after losing his record deal.
The singer who is popularly known for his song ‘Able God’ revealed the silent battles he faced from being a superstar to losing his record deals and everything he achieved through music.
Chinko Ekun revealed that he once headed to the beach with the intention of drowning himself but had a change of heart.
In his words;
“I have one of the biggest music in Nigeria titled able God, i was going for shows, and everything was just sweet, before you wake up, they’ve booked you, going for political shows, they are paying you to do what you love to do, then, and there was a lot of money.
In 2020, i lost my record deal,i had an issue with my record deal boss, he got mad and said that i should leave the house, i lost my deal and the house, i became homeless.”
“One day I woke up around 6 am and went to the beach and thought about jumping into it because I’m not the type to ask around for help because I always try to be contented.
I challenged God and told him I had never worshipped anything else; if I did now, it would be his fault. Three months after that encounter, my life changed. I was able to record some songs, collect my royalties, get back on my feet and get my own place and even buy myself the exact car I lost.”
