Recently, it was announced that Nollywood soon to be Icon, Funke Akindele-Bello, popularly known as Jenifa, has been named among the cast of Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity Wars.
The announcement of Mrs. Bello’s feature in the blockbuster movie was made on the official website, IMDB, owned by Amazon.
The Nollywood superstar actress will act alongside Hollywood giants, Scarlett Johansson, Bernicio Del Toro, and Chris Evans.

She will be a member of ‘Dora Milaje’, a team of women who serve as personal bodyguards of the Black Panther, the Spiritual Leader of Wakanda.
The story-line of the upcoming movie read thus: “The Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.”
The announcement of our very own local star getting a feature in a big Hollywood movie was definitely received with great positivity by Nigerians all over the social media, with many super fans of the actress and other well-wishers sending in their congratulatory messages, even though Mrs. Bello is still yet to make any official announcement of her latest achievement.
However, many have not failed to wonder how in a world of Nollywood divas like Genevieve Nnaji, Rita Dominic, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Stephanie Okereke-Linus, who have greater resumes in the industry, and are what some would describe as more sophisticated than Mrs. Bello, failed to secure such a leading Hollywood movie feature first.

You would recall, that the above ladies have led the Nollywood movie industry for decades now, staying on top as the highest paid actresses in the industry, receiving various local and international recognition over the years.
Not taking anything away from Mrs. Bello, we guess congratulations are in order, while we await the other Nollywood divas to follow in such foot step.
