Nigerian music icon Davido has offered a rare glimpse into his relationship with his wife, Chioma Adeleke, sharing that they lived together for nearly a decade before making their union official.
Speaking during an interview on The Bootleg Kev Podcast, Davido revealed that their journey together began during his university years. He met Chioma in his third year of college, and soon after, they began living together—long before their recent wedding.
“My partner and I have been living together for a long time prior to getting married. I met her in my third year in college, and I was lucky enough for us to move in together early—about eight years before we got married,”
Though the couple had already built a strong foundation, the singer admitted that marriage brought new dynamics.
“The transition was smooth, but it’s different; getting married is no joke,” he added.
He went on to praise Chioma for her deep understanding of his lifestyle and constant support of his music career, despite his frequent travels and demanding schedule.
“Throughout the time we were living together, I was touring and really on the road. She always understood what I did for work, and she knows I’m at my happiest when I work. She knows I love music as she loves being in the kitchen,” he added.
Davido’s candid revelations have warmed the hearts of many fans, further solidifying the admiration for the couple’s enduring bond.
